Before founding the business, Charlie Smith met with and interviewed Professor Walter R. Stahel, widely recognised as one of the founding figures of the circular economy and the founder-director of the Product-Life Institute in Switzerland.
Professor Stahel's pioneering work on product-life extension and closed-loop economic systems helped shape modern circular-economy thinking: keeping products and materials in productive use for longer rather than treating them as disposable.
Those principles are reflected in our belief that quality, value and responsible retail do not need to be competing objectives. Offering selected pre-loved clothing allows us to give worthwhile products another chapter while providing customers with access to quality brands at more affordable prices.
